HealthFitness has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Athletic Trainer/Injury Prevention Professional to provide onsite services for our client with various New York locations in Binghamton (Vestal), Johnson City, Elmira, Kirkwood, and Ithaca.

Industrial Athletic Trainer/Injury Prevention Professional, Binghamton, NY

Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM, 25% travel with PTO & full benefits

In this role, you will plan, develop, implement, deliver and evaluate the Injury Prevention Programs ensuring the highest possible level of engagement, outcomes and both client and participant satisfaction. All services will be provided in collaboration with our client’s existing resources and programming, which may include SH&E, Heath Services, Ergonomics, etc. You'll complete, track, and document all encounters with the client's employees and assist in the creation of reports for client and HealthFitness. You will also assess effectiveness of current interventions and enhance delivery methods to achieve maximum program results and participant impact. Key Accountabilities:

  • Delivers injury prevention services, which include but are not limited to: conducting ergonomic worksite evaluations, coordinating and leading shift stretch programming, and delivering line-side coaching and early intervention services (movement efficiency solutions).

  • Coordinates the delivery of the Injury Prevention Program throughout the client facilities in collaboration with the client’s multi-disciplinary stakeholders (e.g. Medical, Safety, HR/Benefits, Management).

  • Develops, promotes and markets well-being and wellness education programs to support injury prevention programming.

  • Collects program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes and results. Supports the creation of outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives.

  • Leads individual worksite assessments, root cause analysis, body mechanic coaching and well-being education.

  • Performs initial screening to confirm that the employee is an appropriate candidate for Ergonomic Education. Advises employee’s supervisor if further evaluation by appropriate medical personnel is required in connection with an injury believed to have been suffered or otherwise caused in the course of work/while employee is on duty.

  • Provides Ergonomic Education services to Company employees reporting musculoskeletal pain or discomfort.

  • Provides prompt documentation of employee consults to the employee’s supervisor, and appropriate personnel in EH&S unless otherwise required by such supervisor.

  • Presents educational sessions to departments.

  • Conducts office ergonomic evaluations (risk assessments) and documents recommendations.

  • Assists employee healthcare teams with job function assessment, incident investigation and care management. May be required to triage mild injuries.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Athletic Training OR Exercise Physiology and related experience.

  • If ATC, Board Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC) Certification and active state athletic training licensure.

  • Experience and expertise in ergonomics, injury prevention and management of work-related injuries/illnesses.

  • Ability to travel to other client locations and effectively work independently or as part of a team.

  • Current Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to navigate onboarding and electronic payroll system.

Compensation: $58,000-65,000 annually. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
