Description
Equipment Operator a road maintenance position. Individuals operate a variety of road machinery and perform miscellaneous labor in support of construction, maintenance, or repair of county roads, bridges, drainage systems, traffic or road signs, and engineering projects. Capable of working independently and in a group setting during normal work hours and during callouts.
The operator is subject to and expected to be available for call-out 24-7 for emergency response to a variety of road related occurrences.
This position requires a Class A CDL. Applicants are required to submit a Driver's Abstract from the Department of Licensing for review. * WA State Licensing DOL - Request Driving Record*{target="_blank" rel="noopener"}

Examples of Duties
Operates graders, brush cutters, backhoes, dozers, loaders, ditching equipment, tractor brooms, and other kinds of road machinery
Operators are required to inspect and maintain their assigned machinery including fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, greasing needs, and tighten bolts, etc.
Performs tasks common to road maintenance work such as: traffic control flagging, operation and minor maintenance of road machinery, lifting and moving signs and barricades, asphalt patching, brush cutting and removal, guardrail or fence repair, jetting of culverts and similar activities, installing and adjusting tire chains.
Other physical labor may include but not be limited to: Tree falling and cutting, cleaning culvert
