Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Senior General Ledger Specialist, where your extensive experience in financial accounting will be valued.

Unique role that combines the general ledger responsibilities of one of our Western Europe entities with some areas related to our retail business in the entire EMEA region.

Core Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and process more advanced GL processes in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner including:

  • Monthly and Yearly closings

  • Performance of the key controls, identification of the control weaknesses, suggestions for improvements

  • Reconciliations (accounts, intercompany, bank, etc.) in Blackline system (we are happy to teach you this system)

  • Provide support for internal and external auditors

  • Provide data, analysis and advice necessary to support financial business partners / business in decision making process

  • Actively participate in various improvement projects with impact across different countries (implementation of new processes, systems etc.), in line with the LEGO Continuous improvement approach across functional areas

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements

  • Having responsibility for some areas related to our retail business, e.g. inventories (negative inventory adjustment, write off provision)

  • Main contact for EMEA retail expansion team to support translation of business activities to correct accounting entries

This is a fixed-term opportunity for 18 months, with a good chance to prolong the contract afterwards.

The LEGO® Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations; Monterrey, Prague and Singapore. Do you have what it takes?

  • Strong financial background – relevant practical experience in the finance area – accounting/audit/controlling function

  • Advanced level of English, German would be an advantage

  • Analytical thinking, ability to adopt new processes and skills, willingness to learn

  • We are looking for a great new colleague who has the right approach and demeanor towards our values, collaboration, and ways of working

What would be a plus:

  • Previous experience with SAP

  • Practical experience with MS Office (especially MS Excel)

  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
