Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Assistant Athletic Trainer in North Adams, Massachusetts

MCLA is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer opening to provide quality care for student-athletes, including sport preventive measures, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation. Detailed Statement of Duties: Assistant Athletic Trainer Assist in daily operations of the sports medicine room Care for and provide treatment, assessment, rehabilitation, prevention and referral for student-athlete injuries. Work with the team Physician and other Health Services, with the goal of providing continuity of care for students-athletes. Maintain and input medical files and notes for student-athletes through SportsWare (EMR). Maintain communication with student-athletes, coaches, and medical staff regarding the care and prevention of athletic injuries Provide athletic training coverage for practices and competitions as appointed by the Director of Athletics and in consultation from the Head Athletic Trainer. Practice and game coverage will include some nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsible for assigned travel competition as appointed by the Director of Athletics and in consultation from the Head Athletic Trainer Work in conjunction with Sport Performance on student-athlete modifications for participation in weight room activities and return to activity exercises. Assist with preseason clearances and concussion testing for student- athletes. Primary team responsibilities are but not limited to: Men Soccer, Women\'s Basketball, Women\'s Ice Hockey, Men\'s Lacrosse, and Softball. Administrative Responsibilities Support mission and vision of athletic department Complete all department, College, and conference trainings Attend mandatory department staff meetings and department events Conform to the highest standards of professional conduct regarding compliance with department, institutional and conference policies and procedures and adhere to the rules and regulations of athletic governance organizations of which the institution is a member Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with all staff, student-athletes, and external constituents through (a) a positive and constructive approach to all tasks, (b) respect for the competencies of others, and (c) appropriate conflict resolution behavior Any staff member who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedure and in accordance with the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, and a staff member may be suspended without pay or terminated if the coach is found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA regulations. Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree required, Master\'s preferred. National Athletic Trainers Association (N.A.T.A.) Certifications Massachusetts State License (Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions) or Eligible One to three years of Collegiate Athletic Training or related experience preferred An awareness of higher education principles, practices, and procedures Strong interpersonal skills Ability to express self in written and oral communication Ability to work effectively with professional, non-professional, and student personnel Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of initiative Additional Information: This is a full-time (10-month Aug-May), benefits-eligible, position in the APA bargaining unit. Salary is \$48,000 to \$60,000. MCLA will pay for some or all of the following: NATA membership, Licensure, CEUs, convention on a rotating basis.
