King and George LLC Maintenance Trade Helper in Kodiak, Alaska

The Maintenance Trades Helper assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill. The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies from trade to trade. In some trades the helper is confined to supplying, lifting, and holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas and in others, the worker is permitted to perform specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis.

Primary Duties: Supplies materials and tools to Journeyman worker Assist plumber journeyman worker on site with repairs or replacement of sinks, faucets, toilets; may assist in securing water supply for fixture or appliance repair or replacement Assists electrical journeyman worker on site with maintenance and repair of electrical issues as directed. Replaces bulbs and without supervision Assists HVAC journeyman worker on site with diagnosing issues and preventative maintenance Assists appliance journeyman with routine maintenance and transporting appliance Assist carpentry journeyman on site with carpentry repair and routine maintenance Perform specialized machine operation or routine maintenance with specific direction from the trades journeyman worker on site All other relevant duties assigned Competencies: Positive Attitude/Enthusiasm Diversity/interpersonal Skills Attendance/Punctuality/Dependability Teamwork/Integrity Education, Experience, Skills: High school education or G.E.D equivalent Valid Drivers License Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a relevant Maintenance Trades field

Must be able to communicate clearly (oral and written) in the English language.

Preferred: Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in basic repair and maintenance of plumbing, carpentry, HVAC or electrical trades Knowledge of acceptable construction maintenance practices including

Occupational Safety and Health regulations Knowledgeable and competent to operate hand tools and power tools

Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; carry materials and tools to work site up to 50lbs regularly and up to 75lbs. occasionally by team lift. This position requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools. Must be able to work in tight/confined spaces and be familiar with proper personal protective equipment.

Work Environment Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environments will include a variety of working conditions. Work environments include, but are not limited to, multiple types of housing units, industrial facilities and performing work outside in the field. Use of PPE may be required. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Having reliable transportation to/from work is a necessity and must be used in able to obtain access to military installations. Must complete required compnay provided training for Fall Protection and/or Confined Space Training, Pulmonary Function Test, Respirator Fit Test dependent on requirement of trades department assigned. Must comply with all company policies
