Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, and minutes south of The Woodlands. Cypress Creek Hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. We currently have an opportunity for a Dietary Director.

Supervise the production of food that meets nutrition guidelines, cost parameters and consumer acceptance. Apply basic principles of purchasing, receiving, storage, and inventory of food and supplies. Assure the safety and sanitation of the foodservice department and its products. Assist with routine nutrition assessment by collection patient data.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, coordinate and control the operation and financial activities of the hospital dietary department.

  • Maintain compliance with all local/state/federal standards, including Joint Commission as they relate to dietetic services.

  • Provide supervision/leadership for all aspects of the Dietary Department.

  • Maintain appropriate par levels of food and supplies.

  • Plan and prepare special function/catering events.

  • Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork and demonstrates Service Excellence.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Dietary Director Job Requirements:

  • Minimum high school/GED, with certification as a Food Service Manager.

  • Minimum of five (5) years hospital or institutional food service experience w/two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of principles of institutional food production.

  • Leadership, supervisory and administrative skills.

  • Knowledge of local/state/federal, including Joint Commission as they relate to dietary services.

  • Knowledge of menu/meal planning to include special diet preparations.

  • Knowledge of financial/budgetary aspects of food service.

  • Ability to work effectively with other employees, patients, vendors, and other outside parties.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, exceeding expectations of both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing is required.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruption, time management and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as nationwide background check and drug testing.
