About the Role: The primary responsibility of the Project Delivery Lead role is to lead effective project delivery for cross-team, product development, technology enhancement, and/or data-vendor projects across Fincentric. The ideal candidate is someone who takes an active approach to project delivery, is well-organized, an expert at balancing risks & dependencies and acts as a galvanizing force to bring out the best in teams and individuals.

The Team:

The Project Delivery team is a group of project-aligned delivery team members within Fincentric, working across our 40+ agile development teams to deliver key projects and initiatives. As Fincentric, we design, develop, and host data-rich, full-featured, high-traffic web and mobile applications for financial institutions, brokerages, and media clients.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Take ownership of Project Delivery for specific initiatives from kickoff through to delivery and successful launch.

  • Take deep accountability for delivery, including ownership of milestone tracking, forecast of delivery, risk and dependency management, cross-team coordination (scrum of scrums) and other required project cadences.

  • Appropriately escalate risks and dependencies that could jeopardize the success criteria of initiatives to create paths forward, partnering with relevant levels of leadership to advocate for what a project needs to be successful.

  • Create and manage delivery plans & forecasts that consider team sequencing, estimations & dependencies and drive transparency and predictability which ultimately lead to successful delivery.

  • Take accountabilities for all stages of planning from initial milestone plan creation and cross-team work breakdown through to ongoing iterative planning cycles, release & coordination, ensuring iterations lead to accomplishment of project delivery dates.

  • Track and improve overall project status, health, and metrics, reporting internally to the teams, group leadership, and senior management, as well as externally to clients as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Leverage your 3-5+ years of experience working in agile project delivery. Ideal candidate has worked with various project management styles and approaches in a variety of different contexts (different number of teams contributing, applying different methodologies, within different organizations, co-located vs. distributed, different durations, etc.) with demonstrated ability to build trust and respect across teams and organizations.

  • Ideal candidate has demonstrated ability to track risks & dependencies, analyze and evaluate multiple scenarios, and ask critical questions, holding teams and individuals accountable and on track toward successful deliveries.

  • Ideal candidate has experience presenting project status to top level leadership, raise awareness and escalating risks & concerns effectively to drive successful project outcomes.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant agile metrics and charts (e.g. burndown, velocity, burnup, CFD), project forecasting methodologies and ability to interpret them and utilize them to ensure successful delivery of projects.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert working with JIRA or other equivalent issue/project tracking software and related tool sets.

  • Proven analytic and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to help teams break down work based on project needs including experience leading meetings & workshops with hybrid audiences.

  • Proven ability to drive the success of a project that has slipped off track, helping teams identify paths required to get back to green.

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively to customers, technical staff, and all levels of leadership.

  • Experience in the Financial, Software, and/or Digital sectors strongly preferred.
