Robert Half Controller (Division) in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description We are in the process of recruiting a Controller for our manufacturing facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. The Controller will be pivotal in ensuring the timely reporting of monthly financial information, maintaining financial integrity in all activities associated with the manufacturing facility, and providing accurate and reliable financial information to key management. This role involves a high level of interaction with other business units and consolidated finance teams.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations and reporting including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Manufacturing Variances, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition in accordance with GAAP.

• Guarantee reporting reliability, consistency, and transparency; analyze variances and propose corrective actions to management.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure including chart of accounts and related portions of the accounting software.

• Supervise the Senior Accountant to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met and advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

• Manage month-end and year-end close process.

• Ensure manufacturing performance is accurately reported and reserves are calculated appropriately.

• Proactively support the plant leadership team and provide management with financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

• Work closely with the Plant Controller to establish and monitor all standard costs.

• Interface with outside audit firm, tax accountants, etc. and provide schedules and reconciliations as needed.

• Drive continuous financial improvement through Gross Profit analysis, Inventory analysis, New Product and Discontinuance Analysis, and Spending analysis.

• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

• Participate in special projects as needed, provide analysis and interpretation of manufacturing data in relation to financial performance.

• In conjunction with business leaders, support all budget and forecast efforts, including labor requirements, productivity gains, cost savings, and capital requirements.

• Support Yearly Budget and Quarterly forecasting. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions.

• Ability to perform all Accounting Functions.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Prior experience in Auditing.

• Knowledge of Budget Processes.

• Proficiency in Oracle Cloud, Oracle EBS, and Oracle EBS Financials.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.

• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
