Responsibility:

The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring Capital Projects to ensure there is enough quality control of construction activities, verify repaired defects and enter in EAM. The incumbent will be responsible for collecting MOW Engineering Inspection Reports, assisting in prioritizing and entering them into the computer database; perform field inspection of reported issues and document defects to be included in Capital Program Contracts and track their repairs. The incumbent will also respond to emergency calls from Control or Engineering Managers for structure hits, falling concrete and customer complaints. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining inspection schedules; provide guidance to Maintenance Supervisors on inspection procedures and training, written reports and overall enforcement of rules, regulations, safety rules and Policy Instruction Manual; responsible for maintaining payroll records, sick leave, vacation, emergency calls, training and log in sheet; responsible for scheduling refresher and safety trainings; enter the payroll into the AS400 * system. He/She will also produce and coordinate the distribution of defect database records and statistical summaries to Engineering Managers and Infrastructure Division. Incumbent will be required to communicate with MOW Infrastructure, Control/Command Center and Engineering personnel. He/She will also be required to perform other duties based on the department needs.

Compensation:

Maintenance Supervisor II (Str C Ironwork) Salary Range:

Step 1 Entrance $110,381

Step 2 $111,951

Step 3 $115,888

Education and Experience:

Five (5) years of full-time satisfactory experience; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills:

  • Must have good attendance and disciplinary records.

  • Strong knowledge of both Elevated and Subway Structures, Structural Components as well as Construction, Maintenance and Repair Procedures.

  • Must have comprehensive working knowledge of computer applications including Windows, Microsoft Office, EAM, AS400 Timekeeping program, IRAILS and DRAW.

  • Knowledge of NYCT Procedures, Rules and Regulations and Safety Practices.

  • Must demonstrate a high standard of Verbal and Written Communication Skills.

  • Must be familiar with maintenance responsibilities and NYCT's organization chain of command.

  • Must be willing to work overtime including nights and weekends as required.
