Description/Job Summary

The Content Management and Publishing Specialist plays a pivotal role in the end-to-end digital publishing process and delivery of ASHP's highly regarded drug information products and services to a wide range of partners in the healthcare industry. The person in this role will work with editorial and clinical informatics as well as service providers and customers to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate publication and delivery of drug information.

This position will be based onsite in our Bethesda, MD office, and the employee in this role will be working in a hybrid environment, consistent with Association-wide ASHP policies applicable to HQ-based employees. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Trains and supports staff and external contractors in the use of content management systems.

  • Works with content management system providers to troubleshoot errors and manage and test system updates.

  • Works with Clinical Informatics Analyst, Editorial Coordinator, and service providers to troubleshoot content and XML issues.

  • Collaborates with the Clinical Informatics Analyst on the publication of ASHP's drug information resources/databases and serves as backup.

  • Informs customers about new and revised drug monographs and other changes in ASHP drug information resources/databases.

  • Creates and maintains together with the Clinical Informatics Analyst documentation that captures the use of content management systems, publications processes, product information, and customer lists.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to ASHP:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in content management, knowledge management, or publishing.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with cloud-based content management systems.

  • Background in knowledge representation, XML technologies (XML, XSLT, XSD, DTD).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Service-oriented attitude.

  • Ability to work well in an environment of changing priorities and needs and to work well independently as well as part of a team.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SGML/XML editors, Microsoft Access, and content management systems.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to other specialized software (e.g. Jira)..
