Robert Half Medical Records Clerk in Austin, Texas

Description We are offering an opportunity for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry, located in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining medical records, analyzing them for accuracy and completeness, and performing various other tasks related to the management of patient information.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble medical records in an organized and efficient manner.

• Analyze medical records for accuracy and completeness.

• Identify and track practitioner deficiencies and enter them into Medhost.

• Pull charts as requested for audits, peer review, readmissions, and other processes and route to the appropriate area or department.

• Maintain chart control, access, and storage in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Process medical records requests according to policy and procedure.

• Maintain and search computerized medical records.

• Assist with department audits including those related to CMS Quality Measures, and concurrent reviews.

• Collect and assemble new admission folders, if applicable.

• Print and deliver medical records forms to patient units.

• Conduct searches and print dictated reports from the computerized transcription system.

Skills:

• Proficiency in EMR - Electronic Medical Records

• Experience in managing and maintaining medical records. Requirements • Must have a solid understanding of Medical Records procedures and management

• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential

• Must possess excellent organizational skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks

• Familiarity with medical terminologies is a plus

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Experience in a healthcare setting or hospital is preferred

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite applications are necessary.
