Nabors MECHANIC - Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska

Nabors Alaska Drilling operates in the State of Alaska with some of the most versatile oil and gas exploration rigs with special design for Arctic operations.

Overview:

The Rig Mechanic maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines and motor systems.

Key Relevant Tasks:

· Plan, prioritize and conduct risk assessments for daily work load

· Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and submits requisitions

· Ensure maintenance of planned and preventive maintenance

· Ensure proper maintenance of all maintenance records and logs

· Use and understand reference sources to locate information regarding mechanical parts system and requirements

· Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs as required

· Service, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems

· Service, troubleshoot and repair all fluid systems and circulating pumps

· Service, troubleshoot and repair air systems associated with the rig

· Properly use power and hand tools and replace defective tools as needed

· Train motorman to properly maintain and perform minor repairs as needed

· Maintain clear communications with crew members

· Participate in emergency drills

· Follow Nabors and customer operating procedures

· Participate in all crew meetings

Essential Functions:

· Have knowledge of, and understand Nabors Health, Safety and Environmental systems and requirements

· Have knowledge of possible health, safety and environmental impact and requirements associated with oil and gas operations

· Have knowledge of (EMS) operations and responsibilities

· Have extensive knowledge of operations and maintenance of assorted engines

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages that apply basic concepts of required mathematics

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operational manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

· Ability to solve practical problems and ensure that standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Ability to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations

· Ability to wear respiratory devices

· Ability to successfully compete Rig Pass

Preferred Qualifications:

· High school. Certification or equivalent

· Five or more years of experience or combination of technical training

· Oilfield or related industry experience

· Arctic experience
